Pneumatic Fittings — Push-in Fittings for Compressed Air Connection Technology

Push-in fittings connect tubing and components in pneumatic systems quickly, securely and without tools. At STASTO you will find the complete range of pneumatic fittings in three material lines — nickel-plated brass and stainless steel 1.4404 for operating pressures from –0.99 to 20 bar, and POM for –0.99 to 18 bar. From straight male stud fittings to rotatable elbow and tee fittings through to bulkhead fittings, select the right design based on thread, tube outer diameter and installation requirements.

Why STASTO

Pneumatic Push-In Fittings — A Complete System

From straight push-in fittings to swivel elbow fittings — matched to thread, material and tubing.

01

Three Material Lines from One Range

Nickel-plated brass for standard applications, stainless steel 1.4404 for food, pharmaceutical and aggressive environments, POM for lightweight plastic applications — consistently matched to tubing outer diameter and thread.

02

Tool-Free Snap-In Push Mechanism

Insert the tube, snap in, sealed: the push-in connection with retaining ring and O-ring saves assembly time and can be released multiple times.

03

Complete Range of Body Styles

Straight, elbow, T, Y, cross, bulkhead and union — including 360° swivel series for free orientation of the tubing routing.

04

Matching Tubing and Pipe Programme

Plastic tubing in the PA, PE, PU and CP series as well as compressed air hose in the CA series are available in the same range — matched to the push-in fittings.

Guide

What are pneumatic push-in fittings?

Function, material selection and design — explained concisely for the right choice.

Function & Material

Operating principle
The tube is inserted into the fitting; a collet grips it positively, an O-ring seals the connection. To release, press the release ring — the connection is reusable multiple times.
Nickel-plated brass
Robust standard material for general compressed air applications, operating pressure –0.99 to 20 bar.
Stainless steel 1.4404
For hygienic, pharmaceutical and corrosion-resistance requirements, operating pressure –0.99 to 20 bar.
POM
Lightweight and cost-effective for plastic applications, operating pressure –0.99 to 18 bar.

Design & Tube Selection

Which design?
Straight for direct connection, elbow for redirection in tight spaces, swivel/360° for free orientation, T/Y/cross for branching, bulkhead for panel mounting.
Selection criteria
The key factors are thread type, tube outer diameter and installation situation.
Matching tube
Push-in fittings are designed for defined tube outer diameters. Matching plastic tubing in the PA, PE, PU and CP series as well as compressed air hose CA can be found in the STASTO pneumatics range.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ on pneumatic fittings

Answers to the most important questions about push-in fittings, materials and body styles.

What is a pneumatic fitting?

A pneumatic fitting is a push-in fitting that connects tubing to pneumatic components tool-free and pressure-tight. The tube is inserted, a collet locks it in place and an O-ring provides the seal.

What operating pressure is possible?

Nickel-plated brass and stainless steel 1.4404 are rated for up to 20 bar, POM for up to 18 bar — each down to –0.99 bar in the vacuum range.

What is an adjustable elbow fitting?

An adjustable elbow fitting is a rotatable elbow from the 360° series whose tube outlet can be freely orientated. At STASTO these include series such as PI16-360, PI14-360 and PI19-360.

What is a bulkhead fitting?

A bulkhead fitting is a pressure-tight feed-through for panels or enclosures. At STASTO it is available as series PI27 in brass.

Are the fittings reusable?

Yes, the push-in connection can be released via the release ring and reconnected. It is reusable multiple times.

Which tubing is compatible?

Compatible tubing includes series PA, PE, PU and CP, matched to the outer diameter specified for the fitting. These are available in the STASTO pneumatics range.
